What can I expect during my appointment?

Your provider will review your symptoms, medical history, and any available lab results. If appropriate, they may recommend additional testing, discuss possible causes of anemia, and create a personalized treatment plan.

Can anemia be evaluated through telehealth?

Yes. Many forms of mild anemia can be evaluated during a virtual visit. Your provider can assess your symptoms, review existing lab results, recommend additional testing if needed, and begin treatment when clinically appropriate. Your provider will review your symptoms to help determine whether your condition can be managed virtually or if additional in-person care or specialist evaluation may be recommended. Please seek emergency medical care immediately if you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, fainting, confusion, a racing heartbeat that won't stop, or heavy or uncontrolled bleeding.

How soon can I start treatment?

If treatment is appropriate, your provider may prescribe medications or supplements during your visit. Prescriptions can be sent to your preferred pharmacy, while additional recommendations will depend on your diagnosis and individual needs. Some types of anemia require laboratory testing to confirm the diagnosis or determine the underlying cause. If additional evaluation is needed, your provider can order tests or refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Can Circle Medical providers treat other conditions besides anemia?

Yes. Our board-certified primary care providers diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions and can coordinate your care if additional evaluation or specialty services are needed.

What if I need in-person testing or examinations?

If in-person care is needed, your provider can order bloodwork or other testing at a nearby lab. Results are integrated with our HIPAA-compliant app so you can access your medical records securely.

What states do you operate in?

Circle Medical currently offers care in 32 states and the District of Columbia. To check availability in your state, begin booking an appointment. You must be residing in the state of treatment and have your primary pharmacy in that same state.

How long are appointments?

Standard video appointments are 30 minutes. Other appointment lengths may vary.

Does my provider accept my insurance?

Our practice accepts a wide range of commercial insurances. Please note that individual providers may be in-network with different insurances, and we are unable to accept certain plan types based on our insurance contracts. To confirm if we accept your insurance, you can go through our insurance verification during the appointment booking process, or on our mobile or web apps.

How much will my appointment cost if I’m using insurance?

Visits cost $35 on average with insurance. We will provide a cost estimate at booking, although there are cases where insurance will not provide real-time benefit information. Your final out-of-pocket cost is determined after we submit a claim to your insurance, and is based on the details of your insurance plan. Book an appointment and enter your insurance information to get an estimate before you confirm. For the most accurate estimate, call the number on the back of your insurance card.

How does billing work?

If you choose to self-pay, you will be sent an invoice shortly after your provider finalizes your appointment summary (typically within two days). Any balances that are not paid within 48 hours of invoice notice will be charged to your default payment method on file. If you choose to bill your appointment to insurance, it typically takes 4-6 weeks for your insurance to process your claim and return your out-of-pocket cost, including any applicable deductibles, co-pays, and/or coinsurance. The amount on the invoice should reflect the balance that is owed after your insurance has paid its share. You will be sent an invoice letting you know of an upcoming charge for your out-of-pocket cost. Any balances that are not paid within 48 hours of invoice notice will be charged to your default payment method on file.
