What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? I am most passionate about preventive medicine and helping patients reach their healthcare goals. I am a strong advocate for patient education and developing a great patient-provider relationship through open dialogue. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of a primary care provider should be to help patients find consistency with their healthcare and to help them develop a healthy lifestyle and routine. I believe behavioral health is a key component of a patient's overall well-being and is equally as important as physical health. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked the majority of my nursing care in the emergency department. When I am not working, you can find me hiking in the Olympic Mountains or dining at one of my favorite restaurants as I spend equal time between Washington State and Texas.
